Our Medicar personnel are responsible for our highest source of call volume. They load, transport and unload wheelchair patients in a safe manner while adhering to patient care protocols and documenting appropriately.

Medicar responsibilities:
- Transport patients to and from medical facilities and/or home in a timely fashion
- Utilize GPS equipment to locate hospitals, medical facilities, and patient home
- Complete run sheet for each patient, fully recording each trip
- Ensure wheelchair van is in good working order and kept clean
- Report mechanical problems to Dispatch and Shift Supervisor
- Follow all company policies
- Adherence to and compliance with HIPAA
- Interact with patients, escorts, family members and facility staff in a respectful manner, always focusing on the best outcome for the patient
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Consent to a criminal background check.
- Must be available for a 3 day orientation
- Ability to lift up to 75 LBS
- Ability to push/pull a wheelchair that may be carrying at least 250 LBS.
