The Shuttle Driver is responsible to operate shuttle vehicle around the hospital campus to assist patients and visitors from parking lots to various entrances. Transport employees to and from off-site parking lots. The job summary/duties and responsibilities apply to any and all staff that are scheduled or asked to work as a shuttle driver/courier.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operates motor vehicle along prescribed route to take patients and visitors to and from entrance around the hospital campus and parking lots.
- Assist all passengers entering and exiting the shuttle vehicle at all times.
- Assists passengers with hospital information to answer their questions about department locations, hours of operation, or other information as required.
- Maintains proper operating condition of the shuttle vehicle.
- Maintains the interior and exterior vehicle to ensure cleanliness.
- Monitors the parking lots and informs security of available space and potential hazards.
- Assist as backup Courier and completes runs when needed.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to twelve (12) hours per day, five (5) hours at a time; entering and exiting the shuttle vehicle up to 20 times per hour; assisting passengers entering and exiting the vehicle; vision as required to operate a motor vehicle; and hearing as required to operate a motor vehicle.
EDUCATION:
High school graduate or equivalent.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Hospital experience preferred. Possess a good driving record and maintain a valid Pennsylvania or New Jersey Driver's License.
