RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are upheld by the Forklift Operator:
Adhering to the codes of all company Manuals.
Adhering to departmental operating guidelines.
Providing insightful and enthusiastic teamwork that generally creates positive attitudes and builds supportive morale.
Participating in meetings to train all departmental personnel when needed. This includes learning product knowledge and procedural proficiencies.
Using and submitting all forms and reports in a complete, accurate, and timely basis.
Ensuring your work areas are clean and presentable to customers and other visitors.
Maintaining a reasonable work environment and providing adequate safeguards for your work-related health and safety. This includes complying with all Federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Maintaining all external relationships consistent with the objectives, operating philosophy, and desired image of the company, re: customer relations, public relations, vendor relations, and community relations.
Maintaining confidentiality on all corporate subjects so classified.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: The following are performed by the Forklift Operator:
Forklift Operations & Safety
Operate forklift in a safe manner at all times, especially during lifting, backing or when traveling around corners.
Operate forklift to move material about the facility.
When in motion always keep the load as close to the ground as possible to maintain a low center of gravity
Only certified personnel are allowed to operate the forklift
There should be no passengers at any time for any reason.
Never lift items over employees or equipment in such a fashion as the load could fall off onto an employee or equipment.
When lifting materials, be careful to slide the forks under the material without damage.
Never exceed the lifting capacity of the forklift.
Never make a stack that may fall over and cause an accident or injury.
Drive the forklift in designated areas only.
Be aware of forklift speed.
Never drag forks on the floor as this causes excessive wear.
Make sure that the forklift is turned off and stored properly when not in use.
Receiving
Check BOL and/or packing list to ensure they match product received.
Inspect all product for damage before signing freight bill.
Sign, Date and Time all documents and turn in to the shipping office.
Place received material to the staging area
Distribute material as requested by the Shipping Supervisor.
Material Storage
Pull stock as requested to support production.
Coordinate the Daily Schedule with the Production Supervisor as to be aware of what orders will be coming up.
Receive Operator requests for materials.
Pull orders from stock using PO # and Section #
Deliver order to the appropriate machines
Transfer orders from one machine to another as needed
Stage material as necessary (Try to stage and plan for the next three orders for each machine)
Transfer finished product to shipping as needed
Maintenance
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: The following are required of the Forklift Operator:
To support production in a safe and timely manner as requested by Operator or Supervisor to meet efficiency goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are expected of the Forklift Operator:
Must pass a physical and drug screening.
Must have a forklift certification.
Must have acceptable levels of vision and hearing.
Must be able to read and write in English.
Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
Must understand basic math skills (addition, subtraction, fractions).
EEO/OSHA/ADA: Able to manipulate and use CRT/screens, keyboards, mouse/pointing devices, etc., associated with contemporary computers. Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Able to navigate two flights of stairs without harm. Able to lift up to 50 pounds unaided.

- Keep aisles clean
- Report any damaged product to your Supervisor.
- Perform daily cycle counts as requested.

- Perform Forklift Inspection daily at the start of each shift.
- Notify the Production Supervisor of any inspection issues.
- Never operate a forklift in an unsafe manner.
