POSITION SUMMARY : The Transportation Leader directs and implements automotive transportation schedules for Residents at all levels of care within the campus environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
• Maintains HIPAA standards and regards all medical or healthcare information pertaining to residents and employees as confidential.
• Responsible for driving members/residents off the community's premises for scheduled outings and appointments.
• Participates in meetings for the Member Services Department to develop a schedule of social and recreational activities. The Transportation Leader shall support this by bringing ideas, resources, and member interests to the meeting to assist in the development of programming for all levels of care.
• Communicates with the Concierge or Social Director daily to learn of current and future transportation routes and appointments.
• Assists members/residents in and out of company vehicles.
• Prioritizes times, routes and needs to accommodate the greatest number of Residents.
• Helps members/residents to and from bus, van or car and into the destination place if needed.
• Participates in scheduled activities as requested and encourage resident participation.
• Reports any problems with members to the Social Director or Healthcare Administrator upon return to the campus.
• Reports any traffic violation committed during working hours immediately to supervisor.
• Acquires and maintains knowledge of all safety procedures pertaining to the vehicles and residents. Utilizes knowledge in times of emergency, breakdowns or accidents.
• Schedules and performs routine maintenance on vehicles at appropriate time intervals. Keeps motor vehicle maintenance records and shares any problems or adverse vehicular situations with the Director of Facilities Services.
• Maintains power on the cell phone assigned to the position or car and keeps phone at hand during working hours.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Expected Hours of Work: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Must be able to assist members and residents in and out of transportation vehicles.
• An individual in this position is often required to read, write, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and/or hear.
• An individual in this position will be required to lift or carry weight up to 25 lbs.
• Must be free of diseases that can be transmitted in the performance of job responsibilities during the stage of communicability unless the associate can be given duties that minimize the likelihood of transmission.
• May be exposed to minimal to moderate noise and exposure to blood and/or body fluids. Also may experience traumatic situations including psychiatric and deceased residents.
TRAVEL: Local and out of state travel in company transportation for appointments, functions, events, outings and emergency situations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• High school graduation or GED required.
• Transportation experience required.
• Two years' experience in a similar transportation position desired.
• Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record as specified by the company and by the company's automobile insurance carrier.
• Ability to be CPR certified at company's expense.

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
• Ability to meet or exceed the company's attendance and punctuality standards.
• Ability to use miscellaneous software and office equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
