HOME DAILY - Monday through Friday
* OFFERING $8,000.00 SIGN ON BONUS * PAID AFTER 90 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT *
The primary purpose of a Live Haul Driver is driving a livestock trailer to farms, loading live pigs, and delivering them to other farms and partner producers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Each customer must have all the correct invoices.
Pre-trips the truck and checks the load before leaving.
Must be able to follow all customer internal expectations on cleanliness and biosecurity to minimize risk of healthy herd’s physical conditions.
Must have complete control of equipment and pigs at all times.
Must be able to load and unload pigs in a safe and efficient manner at the customer farms.
Must drive safely and treat customers with courtesy.
Performs Post-trips on the truck.
Fills out the proper paperwork.
Maintains a good safety record.
Must communicate with the dispatch office as needed or requested.
Must maintain proper communication with the Farmer(s) to ensure no problems are encountered with pick-up or delivery.
Must be able to complete TQA training and adhere to those standards.
Must pass pre-employment HPE test.
Job Requirements:
Must meet all Federal and State DOT requirements and Transport Quality Assurance (TQA) certified animal welfare training (administered by PVT).
Must have a CDL Class A with air brake endorsement.
Must have at least 1 year experience driving a tractor-trailer.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move more than 100 pounds.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move pigs more than 400 pounds with approved animal handling devices meeting USDA Requirements.
Herd swine inside of three deck trailers, with head clearance of 42”.
Manage swine movement inside livestock trailers with head clearance of 42” and 56”
Able to work in/around manure.
Must be willing to work flexible hours which may include overnight hours. Weekend and holiday work required when needed.
Work schedule and work days vary based on farm production and DOT hours of service regulations
