Summary: The Class A Driver will be responsible for the delivery of construction project materials and equipment to job sites throughout Southern California. This is a union opportunity with Baker Electric in our San Diego region.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for transporting stock from the warehouse to construction job sites.
  • Assist in the loading of trucks and trailers to prepare for transit.
  • Unload material and equipment at job site to appropriate receiver.
  • Provide delivery updates to warehouse management and Foreman throughout day as requested.
  • Create paperwork if none is provided from jobsite.
  • Assist in the inspection and light maintenance of Company vehicles to ensure safe use, as directed.
  • Ensure all tools distributed to a jobsite are in proper working order and are complete with all accessories and check that they are returned in the same condition.
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and material according to production schedules.
  • Provide back-up warehouse operations support as needed, such as, stocking, staging, and inventory management.
EXPERIENCE EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of driving experience in a commercial size vehicle (15'+ trailer)
  • 1+ year of warehouse operations experience is required
  • Reliable and predictable attendance is required
  • Forklift experience is a plus

This is a position with the local union. The compensation rate is determined by the union.

The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility based on company and individual performance, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
