Summary: The Class A Driver will be responsible for the delivery of construction project materials and equipment to job sites throughout Southern California. This is a union opportunity with Baker Electric in our San Diego region.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for transporting stock from the warehouse to construction job sites.
- Assist in the loading of trucks and trailers to prepare for transit.
- Unload material and equipment at job site to appropriate receiver.
- Provide delivery updates to warehouse management and Foreman throughout day as requested.
- Create paperwork if none is provided from jobsite.
- Assist in the inspection and light maintenance of Company vehicles to ensure safe use, as directed.
- Ensure all tools distributed to a jobsite are in proper working order and are complete with all accessories and check that they are returned in the same condition.
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and material according to production schedules.
- Provide back-up warehouse operations support as needed, such as, stocking, staging, and inventory management.
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of driving experience in a commercial size vehicle (15'+ trailer)
- 1+ year of warehouse operations experience is required
- Reliable and predictable attendance is required
- Forklift experience is a plus
