Pete'sTire Barns was started by Peter A. Gerry in 1968 and has grown to one of thelargest independent tire dealerships in the country. Pete's currently operates22 full-service locations in New England, a state-of-the art DistributionCenter, 3 Bandag retread facilities, employs in excess of 300 people, andoperates a fleet of over 100 service and delivery vehicles. Today,approximately 90% of our business is in the commercial truck tire and relatedmarkets. Pete's services everything from a wheelbarrow tire up to anearthmover tire.
*This is a temporary position with the possibility to become permanent
Qualifications:

• ValidClass A or B Commercial Driver's License required
• Cleandriving record required
• DOT medical card required
• High School Diploma orEquivalent preferred

Requirements:

• Driving to various storesacross New England
• Communicating and coordinatingwith deliveries with the Distribution Center Manager
• Obeying and followingapplicable traffic laws
• Securing cargo and properlyarranging and balancing it within the vehicle
• Maintaining a detailed log ofworking hours in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Ensuring any mechanical issueswith the vehicle are corrected before driving
• Planning routes and meetingdelivery schedules
• Complying with truck drivingrules and regulations
• Reporting defects, accidentsand violations
• Performing daily maintenance oftruck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
• Loading and unloading boxtrucks with forklifts, pallet jacks as well as by hand
• Interacting with customers in aprofessional manner
• Performing pre- and post-tripvehicle inspection reports
• Recording cargo deliveries
• Verifying loads for accuracy
• Excellent time managementskills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Physical Demands:
Exerts 75 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds offorce constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and armsin any direction), handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or workingwith hands), and identifies and distinguishes colors. Occasionally climbs(ascends or descends ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like), balances. Occasionallystoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs andspine), and kneels (bending the legs at knee to come to rest on knee or knees).
