Rapid Response Team- Critical Care Transport Nurse- Full Time
The Critical Care Transport Nurse transports patients from Critical Care areas (focus on 7th and 8th floors) to the imaging departments, to decrease delays in procedures and keep nursing staff on the floor. The team interacts directly with the Order Organizer (O2) and the Internal Transport liaisons in the HUB. O2 and Transport call and schedule with the Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT) around the time the procedure needs to be completed. O2 communicates, via EPIC, with the primary care RN to complete any required PPRs and prepare the patient ahead of time, at least 30 minutes. CCTT reports to the unit and receives a brief handoff regarding the patient being transported. CCTT takes the patient to the destination with all the appropriate equipment and remains with the patient if required. CCTT then brings the patient directly back to the bed assigned to them and reports any events directly to the primary RN/Charge/Manager, including a note documented in EPIC by one of the team members.
