Travel Nurse RN - Labor/Delivery in Ellsworth, ME

- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- STABLE (must complete within 30 days of start)
**Must-Have:**
- Experience with all phases of Labor and Postpartum care
- Comfortable with the care of well babies
**Job Description:**
- Provide care in a Level III Nursery environment.
- Comfortable handling low-risk pregnancy cases; high-risk cases are transferred out.
- Support a LDRP model: caring for patients through Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum/Couplet care.
- Manage post-partum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, HELLP, bilirubin babies, NAS babies, and feeders/growers.
- Occasionally assist with medical-surgical patient overflows, for low acuity reasons like IV antibiotics or rehab.
- No infectious patients or telemetry monitoring.
- Patient ratios based on AWHONN guidelines:
- 1:2 for laboring
- 1:1 for active labor
- 1:3-4 for couplets
- 1:2-3 for med-surg
- Assist in C-sections to catch babies and provide neonatal care; will not circulate C-sections.
- Perform newborn care duties including vital signs, thermoregulation, managing hypoglycemia, and care for bilirubin and NAS babies.
- Support on the unit includes two or three nurses overnight, with access to a Charge Nurse and OB if needed.
- Use Cerner charting system.
- Float as needed to MS or ED for task-based needs only, without patient assignment.
- Weekend and holiday rotation required.
- Maintain professional appearance with any color scrubs; appropriate procedural scrubs provided for OR duties.
**Other Conditions:**
- Participate in a general hospital orientation and one shift-specific orientation.
- Approval needed for time off requests.
