Transport Specialist

As a Transport Specialist, you’ll be supporting current and future initiatives that require transport expertise from across the NRS fleet, ensuring we deliver our duty to ship material in a compliant, safe, and efficient manner.
I would welcome an individual who can demonstrate experience in Dangerous Goods and Radioactive Materials Transport either within an operations or project environment. Should the successful person identified require further development, then they will be placed on a training plan over time, with identified external training, coaching, and mentoring.
Key Deliverables
- Provide technical support to site stakeholders and projects on the regulatory aspects of Dangerous Goods (DG) (Including Radioactive Material) transport on and off-site.
- Fulfil the duties as described in S-142.
- Ensure that off-site transport packages comply with relevant regulations.
- Provide an off-site DG Transport compliance function as off-site consignor.
- Provide support to the RMTAM for duties as described in S-075.
- Obtain approval from the RMTAM for all modifications and repairs to off-site packaging.
- Support technical inspections pertaining to RAM transport process and operations.
- Commit to continuous improvement of transport & emergency preparedness programmes and strategies.
- Liaise with the RMT ATOH’s in relation to on-site package operations & approvals.
- Support the implementation of applicable company standards to ensure regulatory and licence condition compliance.
Qualifications
- NQF Level 5 in a scientific, environmental, engineering discipline OR demonstrable experience in the transport discipline.
- Authorisations for SMLO & DGTO (Essential).
- Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (Desirable).
- IT literate with experience of MS Office (Essential).
