The CDL A Driver will utilize a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to operate a commercial vehicle to deliver vehicles. The CDL A Driver will work with the dispatch team to complete assignments. This is a long haul driver position. This position requires a commitment to up to four days of travel per week transporting vehicles to dealerships across various states throughout the country.
As a CDL A Driver, you will:
- Operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules
- Load and secure vehicles for safe transport
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and check fluids daily
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Document and log all work and rest periods and miles spent driving using an electronic logging device (ELD) or on a paper log when necessary
- Retain fuel, toll, and hotel log and receipts
- Comply with all DOT rules and regulations
- Maneuver trucks into load or unload positions
- Report defects, accidents or violations immediately
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Excellent motor vehicle driving record
- U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, background check and drug screen
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel for long periods of time, utilizing sleeper cab
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations including hours of service (HOS) limitations
- Experience in car hauling
