We seek a committed, faith-filled, academically qualified leader who is able to embody and advance the mission of the school as an apostolic work of the Society of Jesus and serve as a Part Time Van Driver. This is an eight-and-a-half-month, part-time, hourly staff position. The position can be filled by one driver for all or multiple days of the week, or by multiple candidates each driving one or multiple days of the week. At this time, we are seeking a driver for Mondays and Wednesdays only.
ROLE OF THE VAN DRIVER
This Van Driver will be responsible for safely transporting students after school from Loyola Academy to various Arrupe service sites around the Chicagoland area, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the journey, and then driving the empty van back to Loyola Academy. The Arrupe service program is Loyola's after-school student volunteer program.
HOURS
This position's hours will be Monday and/or Wednesday on all school days the Arrupe service program is in session, upon hire through early May, starting at 3pm, and finishing upon return to Loyola Academy with the van, after dropping off students at their Arrupe service sites for that day. On days when the driver is needed, the driver will record a minimum of two hours. Depending on the number and location of the sites and the traffic that day, additional time may be required and would be paid for. This position's hours can accommodate a current faculty member's schedule and other commitments.
COMPENSATION: $35 hourly

COMPENSATION: $35 hourly
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate the van according to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport students to designated locations promptly and safely, approximately two hour shifts daily.
- Assist students in boarding and disembarking from the van.
- Maintain a clean and organized van interior.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or concerns to the facilities department promptly.
- Follow designated routes and schedules.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Ability to navigate routes with a keen sense of direction.
- Previous experience as a driver or working with children.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
