Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Director to oversee Kratos operations in Crane, Indiana (relocation required). This role will play a crucial part in establishing Kratos’ presence across several lines of business by managing facility operations and construction initiatives, supporting major programs at the site and fostering relationships with key stakeholders in and around Crane, IN. The Site Director will be responsible for managing customer relationships with NSWC Crane, engaging in community outreach, leading recruiting efforts, assisting with program activities, and ensuring that operations and facilities run efficiently. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain security clearance required.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Operations:

  • Oversee the daily operations of Kratos facilities in Southern Indiana to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance.
  • Implement processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage facility resources, budgets, and timelines to meet business goals.

New Facility Development:

  • Coordinate with Kratos business managers to develop and refine new facility requirements.
  • Work closely with local developers and building contractors to plan and execute new facility construction.
  • Monitor construction progress and project performance against budget objectives.
  • Determine facility equipment requirements and manage order, delivery and installation.
  • Provide regular reports to Kratos executive leadership.

Customer Relationship Management (Navy Crane):

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer relationships with NSWC Crane.
  • Develop new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships to ensure customer satisfaction and contract compliance.
  • Proactively address any issues or concerns from the customer and implement solutions.

Community Outreach:

  • Represent the company in local community initiatives and events.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure the facility’s operations align with the values and goals of the local community.

Recruiting and Talent Acquisition:

  • Lead efforts to recruit and hire top talent for the facility, including technical, administrative, and operations staff.
  • Collaborate with HR to create and implement recruiting strategies.
  • Promote the company as an employer of choice within the local community and industry.

Assistant to Major Program Activities:

  • Provide support and coordination for major programs conducted at the facility.
  • Assist program managers with scheduling, resource allocation, and reporting.
  • Ensure program milestones are met in alignment with customer expectations and company objectives.

Experience and Skills:

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in facility operations, program management, or a related leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing customer relationships, particularly with government or military clients.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with recruiting and talent management.
  • Familiarity with community outreach and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  • Experience with construction project management a plus.
