We are looking for a full time Forklift Operator.
We focus on selling quality lumber and building materials. We are looking for a candidate, who is friendly, possesses a positive personality and who enjoys working in a team atmosphere. This is a very high energy, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities/Job Description:
- Skilled knowledge of building materials to effectively construct loads for customer and/or construction site deliveries
- Build safe and efficient loads of building materials by correctly reading "picking tickets" and invoices
- Understand weight limits and length limits for company's fleet of trucks as to safely and lawfully load trucks
- Load and off-load company trucks with building materials both by hand and with a forklift
- Ensure that appropriate paper work is completed as per company policy
- Receive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and by depositing inventory in designated locations
- Maintain yard cleanliness during course of work
- Check all paperwork for accuracy
- Assist Inventory Specialist in maintaining an appropriate level of inventory
- Perform daily safety audit of forklift and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment
- Assist with maintaining yard cleanliness
- Must have two years forklift experience
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds
- Lumber Experience a plus
- Excellent customer service skills
- Team player with a willingness to assist in other departments as needed
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Completion of a background check that is satisfactory to the employer
