Summary
The Class A CDL Driver’s responsibility will be to ensure the pickup and delivery schedule for the service center is met with efficiency and need of our customers. EMPLOYEE WILL BE DRIVING AND OPERATING A MANUAL TRUCK.
Minimum Qualifications
- CDL A – unexpired for tractor trailers
- Min of 3 years Driving Experience – Meet Mickey Driver Policy Guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manual, and written directions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Drivers daily tasks include:
- Pulling/Fueling/Staging units
- Pre-Trip Inspection (when applicable)
- Driving short/long distances
- Able to back up, drive and maneuver units in tight areas
- Identify potential hazards before moving units
- Able to navigate roads and highways with ease
- Climb in and out of units often
- Must be able to work in a high-pace environment yet safely as well
- We deliver as far North as Virginia and as far South as South Carolina (day trips or less)
- Must be able to identify stock numbers clearly (in front windshields)
- Must be able to communicate with customers and co-workers within and outside the plant effectively
- Must maintain a positive attitude and work rate
Essential Functions:
- Deliver supreme internal and external customer service
- Ability to read and interpret data (work orders)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Maintain CDL – A certifications
- Able to navigate roads and highways
- Driving short/long distances
- Able to back up, drive and maneuver units in tight areas
- Climb in and out of units often
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and with customers
- Frequently climbing
- Constantly Sitting/Driving for long periods of time
- Occasionally lift up to 30lbs.
- Occasional walking, standing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, crawling and kneeling.
Work Environment
Manufacturing Work Environment that will at times provide exposure to weather, noise intensity level, and proximity to moving mechanical parts.
Will also deliver to various Customer Sites.
Work Schedule:
Flexible schedule, part time Wednesday - Friday
Travel: Daily trips; no overnight delivery
Compensation details: 18-22 Hourly Wage
