Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the preparation of designs for assigned structure(s) including research, system selection, analysis, and drawing preparation for electrical substations and transmission lines on engineering-only and EPC projects.
  2. Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations, project drawings, and project specifications.
  3. Incorporate the requirements of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract, customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs), professional service agreements, or other contractual requirements ensuring the projects meet or exceed project goals.
  4. Research new markets and adapt current process and workflows to successfully execute project deliverables.
  5. Coordinate with internal and external partners including cross-discipline, construction, vendors, fabricator(s), and owners to address structural-related issues or concerns.
  6. Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets (including staffing needs) to project management and department management.
  7. Support department managers in achieving performance goals for the department.
  8. Apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as foundation and steel structure design.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering program from an ABET accredited four-year program.
  2. At least 2 years’ experience in Structural design engineering in the Power/ Industrial industry preferred, but not required.
  3. Functional in utilizing spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and computer operations.
  4. Knowledgeable in engineering software, specifically, LPILE and MathCAD, SAP2000 and/or Risa3D, and MFAD and/or Shaft and/or spMats.
  5. General knowledge of engineering standards including AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, ASCE 7 and 113, and IBC.
  6. Eligibility to take Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  7. Legally able to work in the United States for any length of time.
  8. Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluent in the English language.
