PALS is seeking a full-time Warehouse Delivery Driver to join the organization. The Warehouse Delivery Driver loads customers’ orders into a company truck, using material handling equipment, and drives to customers’ locations within the geographic region to deliver. An affiliate of Life-Science Innovations, PALS is a retail supplier of agricultural equipment, feed, and medications serving the hog, poultry and cattle industries.
Responsibilities:
- Using material handling equipment, load customers’ orders onto truck; unload orders at customers’ locations. Answer customers’ questions and address customers’ concerns. Load and return to PALS warehouse unwanted and/or damaged merchandise from customers’ locations. Complete all required paperwork.
- Follow all applicable laws (e.g. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations-FMCSR) and regulations including hazardous material procedures.
- Notify PALS management of any spills of hazardous materials.
- Maintain log book, schedule vehicle and equipment maintenance, and complete pre and post trip inspection.
- Read customers’ orders; assemble customers’ orders in a manner that meets company standards. Gather items from bins or shelves and ensure the completeness and correctness of all orders filled.
- Using material handling equipment, load, unload, move, or store items according to supervisor instructions. Mark materials with identifying information, using stencil, crayon, or other marking device. Open crates and other containers, using hand tools.
- Demonstrate commitment to high quality service by communicating proactively with customers, other PALS staff and external contacts, answering questions and/or referring concerns to the appropriate individual for resolution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Class B License
- Experience operating a forklift
- customer-service orientation
- ability to operate material handling equipment, such as a forklift and picker
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to successfully handle multiple demands simultaneously; strong time management skills
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle record and all other FMCSR required.
- Successful completion of criminal background check is required.
General working hours are 40 hours per week, only weekdays: no weekends or overnights.
