Job Summary:
AJ Manufacturing, Inc., a leading manufacturer of doors and windows for various industries, is seeking a dedicated Route Driver to join our team. As part of our innovative company with a commitment to quality and value, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and efficient delivery of our products to customers.
*Position Summary: *In this position, you would be responsible for delivering freight to our customers on a set route. Manually unload trucks with a pallet jacket. Build rapport with our customers. Follow all company and state and federal transportation rules and regulations.
*Two routes, one leaves Sunday afternoon, return Friday afternoon, other leaves Sunday afternoon, returns Tuesday evening, goes back out Wednesday morning, returns Friday afternoon.*
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES:*
* *Long distance driving with a weekly pedal route, home weekends*
* *Paid by mileage, stop, and detention*
* *New 2025 truck *
* Complying with state and federal rules and regulations
* Maintaining a detailed electronic log of working hours
* Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
* Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reports
* Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
* Reporting defects, accidents, and violations
* Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
* Driver assists in unloading freight with pallet jack
* Verifying loads for accuracy
* Interacting with customers in a professional manner
*EXPERIENCE*
* Valid Class – A CDL required, able to maintain all CDL requirements
* Minimum of 1 year experience operating a Class A vehicle
*PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS*
* DOT physical and drug screen
* Sitting, continuously sitting (i.e. while driving the truck)
* Step climbing into truck, occasionally (i.e. 3-4 steps, 24” in height, in and out of truck and trailer)
* Standing and walking occasionally (i.e. unloading truck)
* Dynamic pushing-pulling 60# of force up to 25 feet, occasionally (i.e. moving freight the length of the truck with a pallet jack)
* Elevated work, occasionally (i.e. hook up trailer cords, place load bar)
* Floor to shoulder lift of 20# occasionally (i.e. load bar)
* Squatting, occasionally (i.e. transferring freight)
* Standing forward bending, occasionally (i.e. transferring freight, 5th wheel pin)
* Cranking dolly 95-100# of force required to move dolly handle in high gear while lifting loaded trailer. 13# of force required to move dolly handle in low gear while lifting loaded trailer
* Bilateral hand coordination and gripping for driving truck, general truck maintenance, unloading/loading freight, continuously.
