Position: Director of Project Delivery

Role Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Director of Project Delivery to lead our utility-scale solar projects from pre-construction through completion. This role requires a blend of commercial and technical expertise to guide project teams, oversee construction management, and implement risk mitigation strategies. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of solar development projects by leveraging your deep industry knowledge and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities, Director of Project Delivery:

Pre-NTP Projects:

  1. Lead and manage integrated project teams, overseeing advanced-stage solar projects from pre-construction to completion.
  2. Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Project Development, and Business Development teams to ensure smooth transitions from project development to pre-construction.
  3. Monitor projects approaching off-take commercialization and develop procurement strategies for late-stage projects.
  4. Negotiate with suppliers for critical components such as modules, racking, inverters, and transformers.
  5. Develop initial construction schedules and budgets, accounting for internal and external variables affecting project timelines and EPC costs.
  6. Optimize project designs for commercialization and EPC RFP stages, including site layout, array configuration, and equipment selection.
  7. Guide Project Managers in issuing EPC RFPs, identifying technical gaps that may impact contractor pricing or schedules.
  8. Assist in analyzing EPC contractor bids and CAPEX estimates, ensuring compliance with project documents.
  9. Generate red-lines for commercial and technical documents related to equipment and EPC contracts.
  10. Collaborate with Business Development and Project Finance teams on proposal materials and participate in approval processes.
  11. Build, mentor, and retain a team of project management professionals.
  12. Maintain relationships with key contractor partners and provide expertise in contract administration and construction management.
  13. Lead meetings with clients for problem resolution and planning, and negotiate change orders in line with organizational standards.
  14. Aggregate and report project status, oversee progress, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure project financing needs are met.
  15. Promote and manage safety practices to ensure a safe working environment.

Post-NTP Projects Responsibilities:

  1. Continue to build and support a growing team of project management professionals.
  2. Maintain relationships with key contractor partners and provide expertise in contract administration and construction management.
  3. Lead client meetings for problem resolution and planning, and manage change orders in line with organizational standards.
  4. Oversee project execution, report on project status, mitigate risks, and ensure financing needs are met.
  5. Actively engage in safety management to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

Location: This position is based in Houston, Texas, with a hybrid work policy.

Requirements:

  1. At least 5 years of experience in utility-scale solar PV and 10+ years in construction or related fields, with a focus on project management.
  2. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  3. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities while maintaining internal and external relationships.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience coordinating across disciplines, organizations, agencies, vendors, and contractors.
  5. Experience in bid analysis, estimating, contract negotiations, proposals, RFPs, and project documentation.
  6. Familiarity with solar project construction schedules, cost management, and risk identification is preferred.
  7. Experience in reviewing scopes of work, technical specifications, drawings, and estimates.
  8. Background in developing supplier bid packages, proposals, and contract exhibits, as well as negotiating contracts and agreements.
