**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery
**Job Specialty:** Labor and Delivery (L&D)
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 12-hour Nights (7p-7a), 3x12s, every other weekend, holidays as needed
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 3 years in Labor and Delivery
**License:** Required to submit
**Certifications:** BLS, NRP, STABLE, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (advanced preferred)
**Must-Have:**
- 3 years of experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)
- Ability to titrate drips
- Experience with obstetric patients, antepartum, postpartum, and L&D
**Job Description:**
- Manage a labor and delivery unit with 7 L&D beds, 12 postpartum beds, 8 surgical beds, and 1 dedicated C-section OR.
- Handle high patient satisfaction in the department.
- Work with obstetric, L&D, antepartum, triage, and postpartum patients.
- Administer care in cases such as pre-eclampsia, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, and postpartum recovery.
- Titrate common drips including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and occasional insulin drips.
- Utilize medications like procardia, labetalol, methergine, hemabate, cytotec, and cervidil.
- Participate in a rotational scheduling system, with close attention to sleep schedules.
- Float to various units as needed, including Pediatrics, NICU, Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Psych.
- Assess and monitor electronic fetal monitoring systems (GE/Corometrics) and remote telemetry as required.
- Collaborate effectively with the team, including OB scrub techs and other supporting staff.
- Perform scrubbing duties preferred for qualified candidates.
- Provide patient care in accordance with AWHONN guidelines and quality standards.
- Participate in 2x12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation.
Candidates are expected to jump right in and exhibit a high level of competency and professionalism. Compliance with the dress code is required as surgical scrubs are provided. Shift schedules are set six weeks in advance, accommodating block scheduling preferences when possible.
