POSITION SUMMARY, IDEAL CANDIDATE:

We are looking for a person to oversee North American customer delivery and transportation logistics plans for the USA warehouse and operations hub located in Chicago. Background in customer-driven warehouse management or transportation management role would be a good fit. The main purpose of the role; ensure customers receive quality products timely and cost-effectively. You will obtain and maintain the best transportation and 3PL partnerships, this includes doing all the transportation cost calculations for internal and external customers. In addition, you will oversee and support customers with product assembly, product quality, and delivery schedules. More than anything the customer is satisfied with the communication and care they receive from the USA delivery hub, while all required documentation is kept in a timely and organized manner.


Position Reports to: Head of Global Logistics

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordination of logistics related to incoming sea containers from Europe and Asia to customer facilities across the USA
  • Contact person towards customers in terms of logistics, technical questions, and e.g. sending of product samples
  • Call on assigned customers by arranging and attending in-person meetings with all functional areas of our customers (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, etc.). Develop strong customer relationships with key individuals and decision-makers.
  • Responsibility for supplier cooperation in the USA and main contact towards e.g. warehouse, transportation, and logistics providers
  • Continually seek to add value to the enterprise through strategic growth opportunities consistent with the objectives defined by the Sales
  • Develop and implement account strategies, tactics, and action steps at both the corporate and site levels which are focused on toward the achievement of company sales objectives.
  • Assess client data and analyse requirements to determine improvement opportunities
  • Responsibility for selected sourcing and coordination activities, including e.g. supplier call-offs, reporting, and ERP system management
  • Supplier cooperation, including e.g. quality control and other quality assurance measures
  • Supporting of sales and marketing activities when needed, including management of product samples, support in setting up stands at exhibitions, and more.


Maintain consistent communication and timely follow-up with customers and be available and responsive to customer’s real-time needs.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Support customers with technical knowledge of company offerings.


KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Over 5 years of experience within an operational role: industrial manufacturing, sourcing and/or logistics.
  • Experienced knowledge of sourcing for transportation or 3P, budgeting, and costing
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, contracts, and negotiations
  • Proven experience in account management/relationship building and a good understanding of business dynamics, strategies, and markets.
  • A basic technical understanding of metal production methods welding, robotics, and surface treatment technologies is an advantage
  • IT SKILLS: Microsoft; Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, CRM, ERP
  • Multi-cultural understanding, experience working for or with European-based or global company

Must be authorized to work in the USA (USA Citizen or Green card holder). NO VISA sponsorships.
