Certification Details

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: able to read and interpret fetal strips, critical thinking, follow quality metrics, previous travel experience, must be able to read strips
- Shifts & Scheduling: 0645-1915, 1845-0715
- No self-scheduling. Block scheduling allowed
- Orientation: 3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation
- Attributes that help make a nurse successful on this unit include adaptive to change, good critical thinker, communicate
Job Details
- BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification
- Preferred: ACLS, NRP, STABLE
- NO CLINICAL INVOLVEMENT
- RNs required to titrate drips
- RNs required to read their own strips
Job Requirements
- Shifts & Scheduling: 0645-1915, 1845-0715
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday
- Call or standby requirement: Depends on staffing
Schedule Information
- # of L&D Beds: 15
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: pitocin, insulin, magnesium
- Charge Nurse on each shift: Yes and takes an assignment
- Nurse aids/surgical techs Duties: Vitals, transfer paperwork, desk duties on locked unit
- OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7: No
- Anesthesia in house 24/7: No
- RNs required to do anything with RT Equipment: Only troubleshooting
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit: No
- What brand are the tele monitors: Philips
- EFM System: traceview/PIP
- EMR: Meditech
Unit Specific Information
- RNs will float to Medsurg & ER as needed
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
- Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
