Warehouse/Local Delivery Truck Driver - Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and professional Warehouse Operator/Delivery Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing warehouse operations and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers within the local area. This role involves a combination of warehouse duties, such as inventory management and order preparation, and delivery tasks, requiring safe driving practices and customer service.
Responsibilities
· Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments.
· Perform regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels.
· Report any discrepancies or damaged items to management.
· Operate forklift to load, unload, pack, and unpack materials.
· Accurately pick, pack, and label items for customer orders.
· Prepare and load orders for delivery based on daily schedules.
· Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
· Ensure that all products are stored safely and in their designated locations.
· Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
· Perform routine maintenance checks on warehouse equipment.
· Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, and deliveries.
· Securing loads to the forklift before transportation.
· Properly secure load on truck.
· Perform routine safety inspections and preventative maintenance.
· Deliver Home Improvement and Building supplies at residential and commercial locations.
· Plans route to and from customers' businesses and adjusts for traffic and/or construction.
· Adhere to delivery schedules.
· Daily maintenance and cleanliness of truck.
· Customer signature on sales orders at job sites.
· Comply with all company policies and driving laws.
· Provide assistance to resolve customer issues.
· Prepares and maintains records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Ensures that documents are complete and accurate.
Qualifications
· Valid Forklift Certificate Required
· HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
· Previous experience as a Truck Driver is required
· Valid driver’s license
· Understanding of all relevant truck driving laws and regulations
· Clean driving record
· Excellent Customer Service
