Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6am -2:30pmThe Yard Jockey operates a tractor to safely switch empty and full trailers between the shipping dock and yard trailer parking area.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConduct pre- and post-shift safety inspections on equipmentStart, adjust, and stop trailer refrigeration as neededHook and unhook trailersPerform frequent bending to replace wheel chocksOpen and lift trailer doors as requiredAdjust trailer tandems as needed for secure maneuveringEnter and exit the yard tractor safely multiple times each shiftManeuver trailers safely with strong backing skillsApply security seals, pin locks, and glad hand locks to trailersCommunicate movements clearly with shipping and receiving departmentsComplete regular yard checks and maintain accurate recordsKeep switching equipment well-maintained and cleanEnsure organization and orderliness within the truck yardADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCheck trailer inventory and report any irregularities on log formsPerform sanitation duties on trailers as assignedEnsures safe and quality food product handling, storage, and distribution at the facility.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)High School Diploma or equivalentBasic reading, writing, and math skillsMinimum 12 months of recent CDL-A yard switching experienceProfessional communication skills, both verbal and writtenProfessional appearance and positive representation of the companyCompliance with Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) and all food safety protocolsUnderstanding and adherence to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System (HACCP) practicesAbility to follow and enforce food safety and quality requirementsWhy Lineage?This is an excellent position to begin your career path within Lineage!
