JOB PURPOSE
Ensures cargo is delivered safely and timely to multiple locations.
ESSENTIAL RESULTS
Ensures safe and efficient delivery of loads by:
- Managing tasks to assure all requirements are completed.
- Accurately reading all dispatch orders.
- Reporting and solving loading and unloading issues as they arise.
- Watching hours to make sure they are used efficiently and comply with DOT guidelines.
- Following all company safety guidelines.
Maintains a clean driving record by:
- Following all posted laws and limits.
- Maintaining a good Compliance, Safety, Accountability score (CSA).
- Driving courteously and defensively.
Ensures the highest level of accuracy in loading and unloading by:
- Following the set company procedures.
- Contacting dispatch when clarification is needed.
- Setting and following a trained routine.
- Following all company safety and operations guidelines.
Maintains Transport equipment by:
- Completing an accurate pre-trip and post-trip on every shift.
- Accurately finishing a Driver's Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) after every shift.
- Ensuring all company safety standards are met.
Maintains and increases customer satisfaction by:
- Demonstrating a highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrating a passion for excellence with respect to caring for customers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a valid commercial driver's license with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements.
- At least 23 years of age
- Must have and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle driving record
- Ability to read, speak, and write the English language
- Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- Has a working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations with general mental abilities to handle receipts, read maps and road signs, maintain logs, etc.
- Ability to properly operate hand-held computers
- Follows instructions and takes directions via two-way radio, phone, or on-board computer
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Meets or exceeds the medical standards for the US Department of Transportation and job's physical requirements
- Able to shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals
- Able to perform frequent squatting and crouching to handle, position, and secure objects
- Able to enter and exit the vehicle's cab as many as 45 times a day (cab floor level is generally from 36-66 inches above ground level, with entry and exit achieved with the assistance of various configurations of steps and hand holds)
- Able to reach for objects above, at, or below waist level
- Able to install and remove tire chains when required
- Able to spend majority of the shift standing and/or walking on surfaces such as concrete, wood, and metal, and occasionally on slippery and wet surfaces
- Able to hook/unhook various commercial vehicle combinations, manually lower and raise landing gear, operate the fifth wheel release, open and close cargo doors, etc.
- Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or equipment.
- The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from the weather and may be subject to both extreme heat and extreme cold.
- The worker is subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, etc.
- The worker is subject to air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
