Company OverviewHeartland Concrete is a specialty concrete producer supplying DOT and airport contractors and subcontractors in Virginia and the surrounding states with Rapid Set Concrete and Latex Modified Concrete with our fleet of 15 High-Performance Volumetric Mobile Concrete Mixers.Job SummaryHeartland Concrete has an immediate opening for an experienced CDL-A driver willing to train on the operation of our mobile mixers and reap the benefit from our progressive pay scale that compensates for the level of skill acquired, not time on the job.Responsibilities and DutiesDrive both CDL Class A and Class B trucks safely using ELD softwareUnderstands safe driving practices and standardsFollows directions and adhere to delivery schedules and instructionsDesire and ability to learn new skillsProvides quality control on truck preparation; completes dry equipment runs.Keeps mobile mixer clean and functioning.Assist in the calibration of mobile mixers (requires lifting 70 lb. totes onto a scale on the ground)Submit pre-trip vehicle safety inspection and report any issues to the supervisorOccasionally work on out-of-town projects for up to 5 nights a week away from home.Other duties as assignedQualifications and SkillsHigh School Diploma or GEDA valid Class A CDL LicenseMinimum of two (2) years CDL driving experience with a background in the military service, construction, and/or concrete a plus.Ability to frequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds of material, and often walk, bend, kneel, reach and climbMust be able to drive a standard transmissionThis position requires working a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends.Benefits and PerksWe offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, 401K, and competitive pay with frequent overtime.Relocation is not offered in any of our positionsHeartland Concrete is an Equal Opportunity Employer by both policy and practice.
