ABM is HIRING IMMEDIATELY for Gate-to-Gate Drivers.

Pay: $24.41 Hourly Rate

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Position Summary Details

The employee is responsible for driving Global Services members or customers traveling in United Global First, connecting to down-line flights in/or of select hubs may be provided connection assistance via a private vehicle transfer on the tarmac. Required to have open availability and work weekends.

General Duties / Basic Job Functions: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Effectively operate current technology required to track and process work orders.
  • Always perform equipment Pre-Ops check at the beginning of the shift in accordance with the ES&H manual.
  • Adhere to all ADA and Air Carrier Access Act non-discrimination requirements.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with passengers, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Comply with all safety, security, compliance and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Display professional image, appearance and behavior at all times.
  • Display exceptional customer service skills when customer facing.
  • No cell phone usage when operating vehicle.
  • Friendly greeting to customer, refrain from excessive conversation.
  • Safety concerns should be directed to the Global Services Representative.
  • Lift and load customer luggage, carry luggage to designated entrances in the terminal.
  • Open and close vehicle door(s) for customer.
  • Seat belts are required for all vehicle occupants.
  • Radio is set at appropriate volume and music is appropriate (Classical or Soft Jazz).
  • Ensure that you are positioned properly when driving the vehicle.

Appearance Standards

  • Ensure uniform compliance.
  • Smoking is prohibited; this applies to all occupants in the vehicle.
  • Must have Company and Airport identification, State and Port Authority driver’s license at all times.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend jet bridge stairs.

Daily Tasks

  • Pick-up radio/phone, keys and transfer log.
  • Perform safety check and audit, note log at the start and end of shift.
  • Fuel and wash/clean vehicle as needed.
  • If damage to the vehicle occurs during shift, please ensure the appropriate parties are notified and all procedures are followed as outlined.
  • Complete transfer log and turn in radio/phone, keys and log to the Global Services Supervisor/Lead at the end of shift.

Safety

  • Appropriate footwear for ramp and jet bridge stairs is required.
  • Customers must have appropriate footwear to ascend and descend.
  • Vehicle operation will be suspended during lightning, heavy downpours, snow, and ice on tarmac.
  • The number of customers carried must not exceed the number of seat belts.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, employee handbooks, and passenger boarding documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from passengers, managers, clients, customers and the general public. Must also possess and utilize effective listening skills.

Math Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

General Company Requirements:

  • Employee must comply with the Company’s uniform and grooming standards and must wear his or her SIDA badge/Airport ID at all times.

Experience:

Previous customer service experience preferred.
