Service Delivery Engineer

As a System Engineer (SQL DBA) you are passionate about Automation and Innovation of SQL services. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, technically competent System Engineer with an ability to partner with other groups within the Infrastructure department to support innovation and automation initiatives. General knowledge of infrastructure management tools is expected and a solid background in user support is critical as the job involves dealing with day to day issues which arise in supporting the IT requirements of DLL. Ability to execute small projects, coordinate incident response and escalations, and track and follow up on ongoing chronic problems and driving them through resolution.
A SQL Database Platform Engineer plays a crucial role in both the operational and innovative aspects of database management.

Applicable Pay Range
$73,700 - $110,600
DLL is considering candidates in numerous locations. The pay estimate displayed represents the typical pay range for candidates hired for this position in the desired primary work location. Pay may be adjusted outside the projected range based on geographical differentiation as well as for any other lawful reason. Additional factors that may be used to determine your actual pay include your specific skills, years of relevant experience you possess, and other work-related qualifications. Many candidates may start in the bottom half of the applicable pay range, especially those with less experience or qualification.
This position is subject to the terms of DLL's compensation plans and policies. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.

Day to Day
- Collaborates with DLL's global team to develop and improve methods and processes for supporting the user community's technology needs.
- Participates in cross-functional initiatives and delivers tasks according to SLA.
- Drive CPI within SQL Database Team together with Scrum Master and Product Owner.
- Improve security posture of SQL Servers
- Drive and support automation and innovation initiatives.
- Azure Devops pipeline improvements
- Interacts and follows up with DLL's internal customers providing support and comfort level.
- Participate in projects and maintenance activities.
- Create, document and maintain processes, policy, standards, and procedures
- Support business projects and innovation (PAAS migrations, upgrades, deployments, query analysis)
- Analyze failures and prioritize resolution efforts

- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong analytical skills. Analyzing database performance and delivering root cause analysis reports to customers is part of your capabilities.

- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge and experience working with automation tooling and PowerShell or Python scripting.
- Understanding ADO pipelines and repositories.
- Agile/Scrum Methodology knowledge and experience is a plus.
- Ability to act with customer orientation and be attentive and responsive to customer concerns.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, T-SQL and related technologies.
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes
- Ensure database performance optimization, system stability, and security.
- Design and build high-availability and high-quality database systems.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate data needs.
- Ability to successfully understand and translate the needs of internal customers into IT service requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of a diverse environment, including service providers, senior management, administrative groups and individuals.
- Ability to use DLL's existing tools and processes, execute accordingly and provide recommendations for service maturity.
- Provide recommendations, management and execution of upgrades related to SQL Database service
