- A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced Labor and Delivery nurses for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 2 years of experience.

- Job Requirements
- 2 years of experience
- Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN, STABLE, NIH and CA License
- Schedule Information
- 12 hr shifts
- Shift starts 645
- OT and extra shifts are available
- Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it
- Schedules are out 4 weeks
- Travelers can access their schedules from home
- Unit Specific Information
- Unit: Family Birthing Center - L&D and Mother Baby Ante/Post - all aspects of delivery
- Ratios: 1:2 L&D, 1:1 delivery. 1:4 Mother/Baby couplets
- EMR: Cerner
- Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief
- Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays Rotate in with core staff
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
- Vents: No
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes
- IV Team: No
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
- Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen
- Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Term, preterm, some high risk. Also have antepartum population
- Additional Details
- Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years)
- Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed
- Modules are required to be done before start of assignment
- Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital
