Pilot Driver

This position is responsible for helping load and unload pools from production to final delivery. The employee also escorts the wide load to its final destination by monitoring traffic, directing the CDL driver with the load and assuring clear distance from obstacles while moving. The employee gets direction from the CDL driver. This position is subject to random drug testing.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities will include performing all tasks assigned in the loading/delivery of fiberglass swimming pools and adhering to all safety standards.

• Read and follow state permits to safely escort CDL driver to destination.
• Properly communicate with the CDL driver on traffic and other obstacles.
• Keep vehicle clean inside and out.
• Pass state certifications on all states that require certification.
• Assist driver with pool tie down.
• Complete annual defensive driving training.

Requirements:

• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Able to drive a standard transmission.
• Able to use GPS system and make changes within the suggested route.
• Able to travel overnight and sometimes several nights.
• Able to read and follow all regulations regarding escorting.
• Physical requirements of the position include but are not limited to prolonged sitting/driving, lifting up to forty (40) pounds.
