CDL Driver and Service Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a CDL driver and service technician to join our Loram Technologies team. As a field-based position, you will be responsible for driving various vehicles to transport company equipment and executing safe and efficient bulk fill cycles for friction management customers. Your duties will also include truck maintenance, DOT compliance, and assisting in the service and maintenance of railroad rail lubrication equipment based on customer requirements. This role offers a new hire training incentive of $1000 at 90 days and $1500 at 6 months, dependent on job performance.

  • Operational Excellence and Maintenance
    • Maintain a well-running truck and trailer, including servicing as needed
    • Ensure equipment is properly loaded, secured, and protected for transportation
    • Drive and operate the vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
  • Planning
    • Monthly fill plan coordination with Assistant Manager/FM Planner
    • Determine units requiring filling based on previous fill dates, material usage, and delivery requirements
    • Anticipate material availability and plan time and location of delivery
  • Compliance
    • Perform DOT inspections and maintain accurate logbooks
    • Secure required special permits as needed
    • Keep log of all material used
  • Functional/Technical Skills
    • Service top of rail and gauge face lubricator units
    • Perform lubrication service program for railroad customers
    • Utilize problem-solving skills to find effective solutions
  • Managing and Measuring Work
    • Manage inventory on maintenance vehicle through company processes
    • Develop schedules and anticipate problems to meet objectives
    • Work independently
  • Written Communication
    • Process work orders and complete necessary paperwork through approved processes
  • Verbal Communications
    • Maintain communication with Manager and FM Service Technicians

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • Experience: 1+ years in Loram maintenance of way equipment's role, effective communication, technical skills, and 24-hour operations management
  • Licenses/Certifications: All Railroad specific certifications, CDL Driver's License, and DOT Medical Card
