**Summary:**
Our Transport program provides complete care for high acuity patients from
infant to adolescent during inter-facility transport via ambulance or fixed
wing.
Transport RNs ensure continuity of care, medical management and safe
transport of patients. From cardiac monitoring to ICU level of nursing care,
RNs work directly with doctors, nurses, other medical professionals to give
best possible outcomes for patients.
**Responsibilities:**
Demonstrates leadership in the delivery of patient care.
Assesses the physical psychological social and cultural dimensions of patients
according to professional practice standards and institutional
policyprocedure.
Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
Organizes coordinates and prioritizes nursing care activities considering the
needs of the patient.
Evaluates effectiveness of care and care coordination progressing patients
toward desired outcomes.
Implements patient population specific interventions based on individual
patient needs.

**Additional Job Information:**
Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective
communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive
relationships. The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate
action when required. Must be able to safely and securely fasten seat belts
and shoulder harnesses in aircraft or ambulance, as provided by the aircraft
or ambulance manufacturer, without modification to those safety devices. Able
to tolerate stressors of flight and medical transport, including, but not
limited to: excessive motion, vibration, extreme temperatures, standing or
sitting for prolonged periods, frequent walking, bendingstooping and
providing patient care in confined spaces. Able to respond to visual, verbal
and non-verbal commands and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must be able to liftpushpull a minimum of 150 lbs. May be exposed to
hazardous chemicals, bloodbody fluids and infectious diseases.Required Work
Experience: Three (3) years of Neonatal or Pediatric critical care or ED
experience required.Other Information: **Must have CCRN – Critical Care
Registered Nurse Certification or C-NPT – Certified Neonatal and Pediatric
Transport Certification PFCCS –Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support
within (2) years of hire date.NRP is Required for Peds and NEO within 6 months
of hire. ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.
