JOB SCOPE: A palletizer operator monitors the palletizer that stacks products onto pallets for storage or shipping. They set up and adjust the equipment, monitor its performance, ensure products are stacked correctly, and perform routine maintenance on machines. They follow safety rules and work with team members to meet production goals.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed indoors and outdoors near operating equipment, loud noises, and loose particles. Work performed requires employees to operate in all different temperatures and with extended standing time. Employees are required to wear a bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and operate palletizing machinery.
- Perform routine adjustments and changeovers. Specifically, pallet configuration, pallet centering, and wrap tension.
- Responsible for moving full pallets and storing them properly without damaging them.
- Perform routine maintenance on the machinery and troubleshoot minor operating issues.
- Responsible for always keeping pallets and cardboard available to the palletizer.
- Understand and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP's, and HACCP.
- Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
- Keep work area clean and maintain assigned portion of master sanitation schedule.
- Report all safety violations and hazards to the supervisor immediately and participate in all safety programs and procedures. Must always wear required PPE.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the supervisor to be accepted with a positive and professional attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening (drug screen, background check, and physical.)
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and easily get on and off forklifts.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
