POSITION OVERVIEW
Pit Operations “D” Operators are responsible for performing clean-up and miscellaneous tasks in and around the Mine Operations office along with some miscellaneous tasks in the Pit. All worked performed by “D” Operators is required to be performed in a safe and efficient manner. “D” Operators must be able to work safely around moving equipment while using required safety equipment, perform pre-operational check and servicing of all assigned mobile equipment, and safely operate small front-end loaders and water trucks for clean-up when needed. “D” Operators MUST advance up the flow-line from D-Operator to Haul Truck Driver within 6 months from date of hire (starting date).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Report to front line supervisor for daily instructions.
Implement and follow standard operating procedures.
Report at end of shift what was accomplished and not accomplished during the shift.
Clean-up with front end loaders/bobcats and small water trucks.
Operation of dust removal equipment when not being utilized by Local 915 employees.
Basic housekeeping and touch-up painting “as necessary”.
Clean and inspect busses, minivans, and other pit mobile equipment.
Transport employees throughout the pit.
Visually observe and report status of pit water pumps.
Fill water cans in pit operations.
Act as guard and traffic control.
Train on Pit equipment as required.
Assist with cable work.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Will on occasion support Mine Clerk with odd jobs with other duties “as assigned”.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work rotating shift/days.
Capable of working at heights.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Must be at least 18 years age.
Must provide proof of legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
Must have a valid social security number.
Must have a valid and current Drivers License.
Must pass a drug screen/background check based on set criteria.
ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY
The job requires training or instruction in the area of environmental awareness.
This job requires training or instruction in the area of safety & health awareness including completion of the appropriate OSHA and/or MSHA training.
