Job Requirements / Description
**Job Title:** Labor and Delivery Nurse
**Job Specialty:** Labor and Delivery
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7p-7a
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum years of experience required
**License:** Current Registration and Licensure as an RN in good standing with the Board of Nursing
**Certifications:**
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS (new employees must certify within three months after hire date)
- Current ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications (new employees should obtain per guidelines)
**Must-Have:**
- Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness toward others
- Ability to communicate well verbally
- Must work effectively as a member of a team
- Basic computer knowledge
- Technical and critical thinking skills in relation to sound nursing judgment
**Job Description:**
- Collaborates with the healthcare team using evidence-based practice
- Demonstrates accountability and respect for patients, families, and coworkers while providing safe and optimal patient outcomes
- Promotes continuity of care by communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team and family as appropriate
- Directs the work of the support staff in the provision of care
- Performs general nursing duties using critical thinking skills with minimal supervision
- Able to work with age-specific populations according to the setting
**Additional Information:**
- Holiday coverage is required
