Job Description:

Position Purpose

The Director, Professional Services will lead the technical delivery team for a multi-million Professional Services business within the Digital Channels Business Unit . The team is focused on selling and delivering custom technical solutions and consulting services to our clients. This role will lead a staff of professional services technicians to ensure timely, high quality delivery of online banking and mobile banking projects. The PS Director is responsible for driving business development opportunities by coordinating and delivering proposals, interacting with clients to define their short-term and long-term needs, resolution of client escalations, and the operational excellence of the technical delivery team.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Technical Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar field required.
  • 10+ years overall management experience in computer software industry, preferably in a systems integration/consulting organization.
  • Significant financial services industry experience, preferably online banking/cores.
  • 5+ years management experience in software implementation delivery.
  • 5+ years of experience managing professional services implementations.
  • Proven experience setting and managing teams to meet or exceed KPIs.
  • Significant experience managing new teams with emphasis on talent evaluation, development, and accountability.
  • Significant experience in delivering via complete product development life cycles, including waterfall development & agile development.
  • Ability to travel 25%

  • Provide thought leadership to advance the delivery capabilities and operational efficiency of the Professional Services team
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve the short term goals and long-term strategic objectives that drive professional services forward.
  • Engage with clients and delivery teams to overcome challenges that threaten successful project implementation
  • Foster an innovative culture that embraces breakthrough concepts, strategies, and distinctive products to achieve and sustain competitive advantage and profitable growth.

Communication and Management

  • Leverage past experience and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients and employees.
  • Exceed expectations using clear logical communication and by acting as a strong senior leader in internal and client interactions.
  • Ensure that goals/targets are meaningful, clearly communicated, monitored and achieved.
  • Represent the Professional Services team in interactions with the Sales teams, Product Management teams, and Development teams as required
  • Demonstrate P&L management capabilities including revenue and expense forecasting and control
  • Support pre-sales efforts in high value transactions
  • Serve as an escalation point for all respective Professional Services projects.
  • Demonstrate resilience under pressure and support team through change

  • Ensure client development projects in the portfolio are completed on time and according to specifications and corporate quality standards.
  • Build strong working relationships with executives and develop cross-divisional relationships.
  • Drive billable utilization and efficiency
  • Audit/review requirements and provide input as necessary to guide the team towards tactical and strategic objectives.
  • Provide appropriate inputs into the product development process to ensure that our products continue to support market needs.
