Tesla's Antenna Team is seeking an Antenna Design Engineer to contribute our on ongoing antenna product development efforts covering a significant portion of the radio frequency spectrum. An ideal candidate will apply first principles and engineering expertise to support tasks related to component and vehicle-level antenna product development for Infotainment, User Experience, Low Voltage and Autopilot features. The exceptional candidate should have a strong background in Electromagnetics and be capable of supporting concurrent antenna development to deliver best-in-class antenna solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise with current 3D antenna simulation tools and be capable of running complex simulations using high-performance computing clusters. The Antenna Design Engineer will closely collaborate with Antenna Design Engineers, cross-functional teams and provide support to other engineering teams in meeting quality and schedule targets within the fast-paced product development environment. This Engineer must thrive in a start-up company environment with great opportunities for growth and spectacular achievement.
Responsibilities
- Lead component and vehicle level antenna/EM simulations
- Perform RF front-end antenna matching using simulations tools
- Support EMI and co-existence tasks using 3D EM simulations
- Support evaluation of new antenna technologies and materials under the guidance of lead design engineers
- Design, optimization, and evaluation of antenna prototypes
- Deliver component level antenna measurements to validate simulated antenna design performances
- Effectively communicate test plans and measurement results to lead engineers
- Closely work with mechanical, RF, EMC, electrical, material, reliability, integration, and production engineers to create best in class integrated antenna solutions
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Electromagnetics or equivalent experience
- Strong technical depth in Electromagnetics, antenna theory and RF systems
- Exceptional with the existing 3D EM/Antenna simulations, experience in end-to-end antenna design and hands-on experience using antenna chambers and VNA
- Some coding skills in Matlab and/or Phyton to support post-processing
- System-level RF de-sense work is a plus
- 100% on-site work
- Self-driven and focused individual with a proven ability to solve engineering problems and deliver assigned tasks
- Ability to communicate seamlessly with cross-functional team members from multiple disciplines to reach fact-based decisions
- Excellent data analysis, record-keeping, report writing, and presentation skills, with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel and provide on-site support to factory teams as needed

$108,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
