Job Requirements / Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete the training program with 100% attendance and active participation
- Receive positive feedback from instructors and driver/coaches
- Assist designated drivers in route completion and learn all aspects of the job
- Enroll in CDL school and obtain a CDL permit license within the first 45 days
- Obtain a CDL Class A license within 90 days
- Achieve defined performance expectations during the initial 90-day probationary period
- Adhere to all safety practices and company policies
- Other duties as assigned by manager
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: US Foods Trainer, Transportation Managers, Fleet Maintenance, Administrative Support, US Foods Drivers
External: State MVD, Customers
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work in various weather conditions, including applying tire chains if needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to use all equipment and tools needed for the job
- Ability to work scheduled/assigned times and required overtime
- Complete DOT written examination for drivers and pass a controlled substance abuse screening test
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass DOT physical and obtain a two-year DOT Medical Card
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Basic math skills and ability to work with money
LICENSES
- No more than two convictions in the past two years for traffic violations, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum one year of experience operating heavy motor vehicle equipment and/or as a warehouse selector in a foodservice or comparable environment preferred
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to stand, walk, drive, sit, lift, carry, push/pull, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel, bend, reach, twist, grasp objects, and manipulate objects
