Car Drivers DO NOT need a CDL license.
Job Summary:
The purpose of this job is to supervise students while transporting them to and from school safely and on time.
Essential Duties
Maintain accurate route description and student roster at all times.
  1. Report inappropriate student behavior to the administration in a timely fashion.
  2. Keep accurate records, time sheets and mileage reports, etc.
  3. Control students in a firm and safe atmosphere creating the least discipline problems possible.
  4. Cooperate with investigations of liability of accidents involving state owned vehicles transporting students to and from public schools in Bedford County.
  5. Establish and maintain a workable relationship with students and parents.
  6. Keep equipment clean inside and outside.
  7. Drive the vehicle safely, maintaining state and county guidelines.
  8. Perform related work as required.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must possess and maintain a valid state commercial driver's license required endorsements with an acceptable driving history. Does not require a CDL.
Physical Demands
Performs sedentary work that involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time: requires little or no dexterity.
