Capacity Delivery Manager, Infrastructure Capacity Management

Job ID: 2783019 | Amazon Data Services, Inc.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Do you enjoy solving very complex problems while seeking to invent and simplify? Are you excited by large complex supply chains? Do you enjoy leveraging your creativity to solve real-world analytical and capacity delivery problems? Come work with smart people and make major contributions towards enhancing our infrastructure for millions of customers worldwide.

The ISCaP team is looking for an exceptional Tech Infrastructure Program Manager to help us build on this mission as the volume of products, services, and locations continues to grow. The ideal candidate is one who thrives in ambiguity, is very customer obsessed, focused on operational excellence and is willing to take a high degree of ownership for their program vision and execution of ideas. The ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, make data-driven decisions, and apply good judgment to manage escalations, competing priorities, and deliverables is essential to this role. Successful candidates will be able to balance think big with the realities of delivering on customer promises today. They will also have excellent analytical and creative thinking skills, and the ability to break down complex problems with no clear answers (and at times, conflicting data) into simple, innovative solutions and/or clear, measurable implementation plans.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Work cross-functionally and lead the development of a 13-week master schedule.
  2. Ensure that all relevant stakeholders receive the production schedule.
  3. Review the forecast and use judgment to assess planned quantity and specs.
  4. Monitor data integrity and lead data cleanup whenever needed.
  5. Work with teams on any needed system optimization.
  6. Creation of standard work / stand sequence of planning process.
  7. Understand the capacity and throughput of each part of the process / ensure balancing of the orders forecast.
  8. Report metrics on demand forecast accuracy, orders on-time delivery, and WIP inventory.
  9. Partner with the fulfillment team on initiatives to drive lead (and cycle) time reduction.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies, related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software).
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience creating, iterating, and improving end-to-end global supply chains.
  • Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer.
  • Advanced knowledge of global supply chains.
  • 3+ years professional experience (in high technology or consumer electronics).
  • Experience with supply chain modeling and other statistical analysis tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of data center products and their global supply chains.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certified.
  • Experience leading and/or participating in S&OE and S&OP meetings.
