HOURS & DAYS: Hours will be determined by route; Monday - Friday; 180 days per school year (will prorate for 24/25 SY)
SALARY: $17.82 to $22.63 depending on experience (May change based on collective bargaining process)

Job Title: ODL Driver
Work Days: As Assigned
Reports to: Transportation Manager
FLSA Status: Classified - Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
Safely and efficiently transport students in a type 10 passenger vehicle along a designated route.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Operate type 10 vehicles in all weather conditions to transport individual or small groups of students.
  2. Conduct a daily pre and post trip inspection as prescribed by Oregon Department of Education.
  3. Report mechanical difficulties according to department procedure.
  4. Complete assigned forms and reports in a timely manner.
  5. Maintain the vehicle to provide a safe and clean atmosphere, inside and out.
  6. Maintain discipline in the vehicle and report discipline challenges to appropriate staff; attend student-parent meetings regarding transportation discipline challenges, as required.
  7. Interact professionally and courteously with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  8. Contact appropriate emergency personnel, administer first aid to passengers as needed and prepare accident and incident reports as needed.
  9. Attend department meetings as scheduled.
  10. Maintain appropriate licenses, certifications, and training hours as required.
  11. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  12. Perform related duties as assigned.
  13. Fulfill working conditions and physical requirements listed below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of employment.
  3. Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  4. Possession of or ability to obtain a Type 10 certificate from the Oregon Department of Education within two weeks of hire. The District will provide training.
  5. Ability to obtain ODE Fingerprint/Background clearance.
  6. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written communication.
  7. Ability to operate a type 10 vehicle in a safe and lawful manner during varying weather, road, and, traffic conditions.
  8. Adhere to the federal requirements of a drug free workplace.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Length of Year: Days as Assigned. Length of Day: As assigned by Supervisor.
  2. Possess the ability to sit for extended periods of time and perform regular climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, walking, and crouching.
  3. Frequent talking, hearing, reaching, and use of hands for fine manipulation.
  4. Possess ability to exert force to 50-100 pounds occasionally and 25-50 pounds of force frequently.
  5. Possess the ability to drag 125 lbs. 30 feet in 30 seconds.
  6. Frequent near and far acuity, depth perception, focal length change, color vision, and peripheral vision.
  7. Possible exposure to inclement weather conditions and hazardous traffic and/or driving conditions.
  8. Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to very loud.
