Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Specialty: Labor and Delivery (L&D)
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12H Nights
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in L&D required
License: Valid Illinois license required
Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN (intermediate or advanced)
Must-Have: Experience in Labor and Delivery, OR circulates and recovers
Job Description:
- Join our Labor and Delivery department, featuring 7 L&D beds, 1 OR suite for C-sections, and 7 postpartum beds.
- Handle common diagnoses such as labor, preeclampsia, HTN, obesity, gestational diabetes, and preterm labor.
- Stabilize newborns and manage couplet care post-recovery.
- Experience in managing common titratable drips like Pitocin and Insulin is required.
- Work alongside OB hospitalists and anesthesia available, with 24/7 in-house coverage during weekdays.
- Utilize OBIX EFM System and Meditech Charting System for documentation.
- Participate in a self-staffed unit with extra call requirements for covering intermittent LOAs and vacations.
- Rotate weekend shifts every other to every third weekend, and holiday work requirements are split annually.
- Potential requirement to float to medical-surgical unit as helping hands/sitter during critical needs.
- Adhere to department-specific orientation with up to 3 shifts.
- Hospital provides scrubs; waterproof, non-slip shoes are a must.
- Travel nurses must disclose prior employment history with any affiliated facilities.
