(CDL) READY MIX DRIVER - AUSTIN

JOB SUMMARY
The Ready Mix Driver is responsible for transporting concrete to assigned locations. This position performs pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, cleans the mixer between loads, visually inspects material consistency to ensure quality and monitors various equipment gauges.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
2. Operate a mixer truck.
3. Load, transport and unload material, including blocks, aggregate and cement, at assigned locations.
4. Perform daily pre and post trip inspections with appropriate documentation.
5. Clean mixer truck between loads.
6. Visually inspect consistency of concrete in mixer to ensure product quality.
7. Monitor various gauges during the operation of the vehicle.
8. Provide the appropriate documentation on delivery tickets.
9. Maintain daily vehicle mileage and hours-of-service logs.
10. Comply with company safety policies and procedures, as well as traffic laws and regulations.
11. Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment and refer major problems to the supervisor.
12. Perform Laborer duties, as needed.
13. Keep vehicle clean and in orderly condition.
14. Regular, punctual attendance.
15. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• At least six months' experience operating a truck that requires a Class B commercial driver's license (CDL)
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail
• Ability to interact professionally with customers, coworkers and to assist with issue resolution
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, as scheduled

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Class A CDL
• Previous mixer truck operating experience

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid Class B CDL
• Safe driving record for the last 5 years
• Valid medical card or the ability to obtain one
