Description
Join our team at Leidos to help shape the transportation industry by researching and developing cooperative driving automation software, smart infrastructure technology, and collaborative simulation tools. As a Cooperative Driving Automation Systems Engineer, you will work on connected automated vehicles, cooperative driving automation systems, real-time collaborative testing, advanced simulations, and traffic optimization.
Location: FHWA's Saxton Transportation Operations Laboratory, McLean, Virginia
Role Summary:- Collaborate with project teams, internal and external stakeholders to apply systems engineering processes.
- Conduct simulation and field testing of automated vehicles and connected infrastructure.
- Develop and execute test plans, investigate, and test emerging transportation technologies.
- Define functional requirements, perform data analysis, and manage test campaigns.
- Oversee integration, verification, validation, and regression testing.
- Coordinate with development teams and manage daily activities of engineers and technicians.
- 2+ years of experience in a laboratory or test environment.
- Experience with C++ and Python in a Linux environment, as well as virtualization and hardware/software-in-the-loop test development.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external teams.
- Self-motivated and able to self-teach with a keen interest in working with hardware and software.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and willingness to travel to test sites in the US.
