**Job Title:** Registered Nurse
**Job Specialty:** Labor and Delivery Nurse
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Nights
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum of 2 years
**License:** Current RN Licensure
**Certifications:**
- Healthcare Provider Level of BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Advanced prior to the end of orientation
- STABLE course completion within 6 months of completing orientation
- OB ALS online course taken within 6 months of completing L&D training
- AWHONN's Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course within 3 months of completing L&D training
**Must-Have:**
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Ability to perform the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
**Job Description:**
- Function as both a caregiver and care manager
- Assume responsibility for a group of patients, implementing the Nursing Process
- Direct and oversee the work of other caregivers through delegation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of patient care outcomes
- Perform assessment/data collection focusing on physiological, psychosocial, and cognitive status
- Implement care by adhering to pre-determined procedures, policies, and care plans
- Identify patient/significant other learning needs and implement teaching as needed
- Document in patient’s chart via electronic medical records per policy and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrate sensitivity to patient and family rights regardless of race, age, religion, color, creed, sex, national origin, or any other classification protected by law
- Effectively supervise assigned coworkers and appropriately delegate patient care activities
- Demonstrate effective organization and priority setting using sound critical thinking
- May function as a Charge Nurse, delegating patient assignments, assisting with admits, discharges, and transfers, coordinating staff coverage, and helping staff problem-solve
- Maintain professional growth through seminars, workshops, and affiliations
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control requirements
- Communicate efficiently with team members and conduct self professionally, maintaining personal appearance standards
**Physical Requirements:**
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, and stooping
- Ability to lift/carry light items, perform CPR, and manage equipment
- Keen mental faculties for assessment and decision-making in managing acutely ill patients
- Good eyesight and emotional stability to handle the stress level associated with patient care and teamwork
This job requires holiday coverage and the position is urgent for a quick start.
