The Logistics and Delivery Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of delivery logistics, fleet management, and operational efficiency. This role includes optimizing driver routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with DOT and safety regulations. It also involves team coordination, order processing, driver training, and managing data-driven initiatives to improve performance and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Coordination and Decision-Making:

·       Lead, motivate, and coordinate logistics and delivery teams in a fast-paced environment, emphasizing safety and quality in all decisions.

·       Ensure effective communication channels with drivers to relay important updates, address concerns, and maintain a positive working relationship.

Fleet Management and Geotab/ELD Systems:

·       Utilize Geotab and ELD systems to monitor driver routes, improve vehicle utilization, and enhance fuel efficiency.

·       Oversee fleet management, focusing on truck utilization, vehicle aging, and capital expenditure while maintaining safety standards.

Scheduling, Planning, and Route Optimization:

·       Demonstrate expertise in using tools to plan routes and schedules, ensuring timely and safe deliveries.

·       Modify delivery routes as needed based on real-time weather, traffic, and other relevant information.

Order Processing and Transfer Operations:

·       Oversee order processing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in fulfilling customer orders.

·       Manage logistics and transfer operations, ensuring the smooth flow of materials between locations, while optimizing loading/unloading processes.

Driver Audits, Quality Control, and Compliance:

·       Conduct regular driver audits to assess performance, safety adherence, and compliance with industry standards.

·       Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards in delivery and logistics operations.

Logistics and ERP Maintenance:

·       Guarantee efficient material flow from the plant to the job site through strategic logistics management.

Strategic Planning and Data Analysis:

·       Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance logistics and delivery operations, focusing on cost, productivity, and safety.

·       Use a data-driven approach to analyze logistics and delivery performance, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Driver Training and Development:

·       Create and implement ongoing training programs for drivers to enhance their skills, safety awareness, and adherence to company policies and regulations.

Working Hours, Equipment, and Resource Management:

·       Track drivers' working hours and equipment availability to optimize scheduling and resource allocation.

·       Ensure compliance with DOT regulations regarding working hours and vehicle operation.

Performance Metrics and Continuous Improvement:

·       Establish and maintain performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of logistics and delivery operations, incorporating safety and productivity indicators.

·       Continuously analyze data and make informed decisions to drive operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications:

·       Proven experience in logistics and delivery operations management, with strong leadership skills.

·       Proficiency in Geotab/ELD systems and ERP software for fleet and logistics management.

·       Strong knowledge of logistics laws and safety regulations in the transportation industry.

·       Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

·       Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to make informed decisions.

·       Strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
