Summary
Skilled professional responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mobile cranes on construction sites, industrial facilities, and other settings. Mobile cranes are powerful vehicles with telescoping booms that can lift, maneuver, and place heavy loads with precision. Must be able to operate a 110 ton Crane with offloading capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Operate late model 130-ton LIEBHERR LTM 1130-5.1 5-axle Mobile Hydraulic All-Terrain, telescoping boom Crane.
- Lift, transport, and place heavy materials, equipment, and structures precisely according to blueprints and instructions.
- Conduct pre-operation checks to ensure the crane is functioning safely.
- Inspect and maintain the assigned crane, performing basic maintenance tasks like lubrication and cleaning.
- Signal to riggers and other crew members using hand signals or a radio to ensure safe and coordinated lifting operations.
- Ensure the load is properly secured and balanced throughout the lifting process.
- Calculate weight capacities and boom radii to prevent overloading and ensure safe operation.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations set forth by OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of crane operations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license.
- Mobile Crane Operator, National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating mobile cranes in a relevant setting.
- Previous experience operating Liebherr 130-ton Mobile Crane.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and spatial awareness.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely with crew members using hand signals or a radio.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically capable of performing tasks that require bending, lifting, climbing, and prolonged periods of standing or operating machinery.
Work Environment
- Mobile crane operators typically work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, heat, cold, and wind.
- The job can be physically demanding and requires constant focus and attention to detail to ensure safety.
- Adherence to safety protocols is essential to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Travel between different job sites is common.
